The Meg is a science-fiction action thriller about a giant prehistoric shark called the Megalodon that resurfaces in modern times. The story is about a deep-sea rescue diver, named Jonas Taylor, who encounters a massive creature during a failed mission that cost several lives. He is blamed and called delusional. Taylor is called back into action when a research team exploring the Mariana Trench is trapped after their submersible is attacked by the very creature Taylor had seen.

When Taylor joins the rescue, he discovers that the Megalodonhas escaped into open waters. Soon, the giant shark begins threatening nearby beaches and anyone in its path. Jonas teams up with oceanographer Suyin, her young daughter Meiying, and the rest of the research crew to track and stop the Meg before it causes mass casualties. At the end, the team outsmarts and defeats the gigantic predator.

There are many lessons that can be learned from this movie. One of the most important lessons that this movie shows is that teamwork can help to reach a goal. This is helpful when doing a group project in school and being part of a sports team or school club. The Scientists, divers, and crew members all had to trust each other’s strengths to defeat the predator. Another lesson is to face your fears instead of running from them. Taylor had traumatic memories of his past mission, but he chose to return to the ocean when the team needed him. He got past his fears and showed courage. Lastly, the characters in this movie show sacrifice and selflessness. They risked their lives to save others. This is an important lesson to learn as we should all try to spend our time to give back to our community rather than always focusing on our personal needs.
